the action on my guitar is very close meaning the strings are really close to the frets. Easy to play, but if you strum too hard you get the buzz. But thats the way she was made to be played. I was going to get it adjusted but I thought about it and said I'd be better off leaving it like it was. |

Looks like we got Ed Roman's Bastard Child on the forum
Listen up Julian sorry to Tell ya but you and your evo aint god and to be honest its almost a ripoff axe
Sit down and get off your pedastal
The ML is an orig shape and the v z and ml's are what MADE dean guitars!
Your guitar buzzes cause your action needs adjusted depending on how off it is it can ruin your frets
Some lil toads just can't handle Bigger things then theyre used to
the bigger the better!!

Julian,
Trapper has the good fortune to own 2 of only 4 USA Evos that were ever built, by Deans former head luthier Ben Chafin. This is what Ben builds now at his own company. Chafin Custom Guitars.
I own this one. A completely hand built USA guitar

Um - no it's not.
By the way - looked at your poll results lately? Should tell you how people feel about the Evo! |

Julian,
That is called fret buzz, you need to take the guitar to a good guitar shop and have them set it up for you. If you tend to have a hard touch have them set the action higher, if you have a soft touch they can set it low. Chances are the truss rod needs an adjustment also. There had been a problem with some of the Evos with frets popping that might be the case also. But no matter you shouldn't be getting "hum" (fret buzz) if the guitar is set up properly. When you go to have the work done have them put new strings on it with the guage you like, and have them do the set up based on the new string guage. If you are fairly new to playing 10-46s are a good all around string for play ability and tone

dizzy, i am trying to settle down here a little bit and your still complaining. You probably know NOTHING about the evo and the poll results are based on peoples thoughts. As far as i'm concern, your acting a little childish! |

Bill that is a very nice guitar. It looks alot like the evo. The guy at the store said i can get it adjusted, but there is no need because about every one he had sold, the strings were close to the fret. He said that it is normal to get buzz if you kinda slam the strings when you pick hard. So it probably doesnt matter.

Well I think you's had enough to say. Why don't you just let me have a chance to not brag about the evo. |

Um - you can buy a new EVO SS for less than $400 U.S.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2367798311&category=41435
$379 plus lets say $50.00 shipping to the great white north = $429. Based on the high exchange rate of 1.54 - that would be $660 Can. Add GST (7%) and PST (in Ontario where I am it's 8%) and your now at $759. Add another $20 for brokerage fees and your at a grand total of $779.
It's fine if you bought it without really knowing the price market - live and learn. I just don't want you to think that $1150 is a good price for an EVO - they can be had for WAY less.
By the way - what part of Canada are you from? |
well now, why don't you look down below the stats on the page?
What does it say?
Retail $679 |
