From "This is Spinal Tap":
Nigel Tufnel: The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and -
Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?
Nigel Tufnel: Exactly.
Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it's louder? Is it any louder?
Nigel Tufnel: Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?
Marty DiBergi: I don't know.
Nigel Tufnel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?
Marty DiBergi: Put it up to eleven.
Nigel Tufnel: Eleven. Exactly. One louder.
Marty DiBergi: Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?
Nigel Tufnel: [Pause] These go to eleven.
Any amp that goes to eleven will do. Seriously, there are a lot a great amps from the Peavey 5150 all they way to the Engl Powerball. VHT makes some "heavy" amps to. Reguardless of the amp, you'll probably want a closed back 4x12 cab with Celestion Vintage 30s or Celestion G12Hs. |

I heard a guy play one of the Huges & Kettner Warp 7's, just about blew me off my stool. If you do any drop tuning this is the beast. It's made in a single or double 12 inch and a head / half stack. Check with Dave a t Bass & Treble, he has some really great prices. |

You really can't go by hearsay. Go try all you can, or alternatively try out the amp used by an artist who's 'tone' you dig. (ie not your favorite guitarist but...you get the picture). Good luck in the search. |

Oh, thanks for the info Hans. We don't have a Bogner reseller here (surprise) so I can't try them out..

The fact is BOGNERs are hard to get and they are incredible expensive, I think the Uberschall is far over € 3000....which IMO is really a lot!
It's a kickass amp though.... |
