I'm new to the forum and a bit uneducated about some of the Deans. I saw a caddy hand signed and marked as number 1 of 100 at a store in St. Louis. , MO . This is a new guitars and is beautiful. Can anyone give me a run down on this series of guitar. Is it one of the anniveresary guitars? I assume it is collectable.
Also saw a Euro-custom Icon there. I thought they quit making this line of guitar in Europe. Any info on both guitars would be great .
Thanks,
Dave |

Seems the smarter thing to do would be to inquire at the store. I only say that because 1/100 really could be anything. Got specs? Binding? Year? Pups? Finish? It could be the first anni Caddy only I would've thought that to be in Elliot or Dean's collection.
Oh. And welcome to the nut factory! |

If the Caddy is a flame top then it's the anniversary. I doubt it is as I owned that guitar and sold it to a forum member on the West coast. I think the #1 Caddy of the regular TC series was black. In any case, they're awesome players and collectors. --Joe |

This guitar is a sunburst flame top and a triple pickup guitar. It has 1/100 and Dean Z-man's name in what looks like gold marker on the back of the headstock. I didn't take note of the binding. I guess I'll go back and get a better look. |

Any #1 is certainly worth more in my opinion. I own the first trans black 25th Anninversary Caddy ever built, and I also own the 1st and only Dean ES 335 ever built. Heres a link to my homepage if you want to check mine out:

You need not go back. That's enough info right there. The gold marker would indicate it's at least a TC and is collectable. In fact it sounds like an anniversary. Hmmmm. |

Yep, that was my guitar! I bought it from a forum member too-- "Jayba the Hut." It had probably the best neck I've ever felt on a guitar. I just couldn't get used to that middle pup. So, how much are they asking for it? |

I live in St Louis and last week I went to this store (Fazio's) and they have a braziliaburst 25th anniversary caddy marked 1/100. I was surprised as I thought the #1 caddy had gone elsewhere. And yes they do have some Euro Icons.

I called Fazio's and the price on the caddy is $2999.00. They told me that it was a brand new guitar and had never been sold. Is there different series of these guitars? |

I didn't ask them what they were asking for the guitar when I was in there, and it was not the same as Jay's #1 Caddy. So perhaps a call to Dean guitars would be in order.

I would ask them for the actual serial # that would certainly clear up a lot of issues.

I say Bill. How recent is that 02 Custom Strat? Didn't notice that gem until just now. |

Phil,
I've had that for quite a while its just like the one in the avatar, reverse headstock. The only change I made was I put a SRV pickguard on it. That's one of my sleepers along with the strat I got from Chuck.

I stopped by to see if that caddy was really a #1, only because I've never seen one in person. Okay it's a #1, but a 12 on a scale of 1 to 10. It has one of the best necks I've ever felt. I didn't have the nerve to plug it in though, I was afraid it would haunt me too bad. If I could only find where I planted that money tree. I didn't ask about a discounted price, but these guys have taken care of me and several of friends for over 15 years, so I think you could talk them down if you were serious about it. |
