How is 'white' a rare colour? I know you don't see 'em every day, but I certainly wouldn't have called it a rare finish. Maybe it's just me. |

Isn't everything "rare" on e-bay?
I do like the guitar, sometimes simple is killer. |

They aren't rare, but they also are not the most common color. I have one, BraveDave has one and is the high bidder on this one as well. There are some others here who also have one, I believe.

I have 4 white vintage dean guitars - all with black binding. I don't think the color is particularly rare, but there were far more black dean guitars than white or red. Dean Z has told me that he did a few pink, orange, yellow, etc. Those I would definitely call rare. I had to retract my bid on the ML on ebay, and so did Jeff, for some odd reason. I wonder how high it will go - and where is that '77 Z? |

I think vintage and TC Bluebursts are pretty rare but Silverbursts are even more rare...
I think those are the two rarest finishes IMO.... |

I'll bet the reason the white guitars are so rare is because they cost more! According to my "Effective Feb. 1982" price list V, Z or ML Standards:
Cherry, Black, Brasiliaburst, Cherryburst, Walnut, Natural - $1048
White or Custom Color - $1148
Seems kind of crazy to me but it cost approx. 10% more to get one in white. |
