Now THAT is a finale.
When I was a kid, the mayor from my grandmother's little 1500 pop town got a "good deal" on some 3 year old professional fireworks. Most of em were duds, but the few that did light blew up on the ground, setting the field on fire and raining still burning stuff on the crowd. It was priceless.

That isn;t very neat, I already thought this movie would be about teh Fireworks disaster in Enschede a few years back...it is indeed Dutch.
It wasn't a factory since we have none here but it was a depot which stored proffesional fireworks, there was even some rumours saying there also were heavy artillery shells on teh site but that turned out negavtive...
THis disaster blew away a WHOLE neighbourhood I beleieve there were like 20 people found dead and a lot more wounded...they are still rebuilding that neighbourhood..
I remember teh first pictures of teh site after teh smoke had cleared it was a big HOLE in the city were there was simply nothing left...100's of houses completely destroyed... |

Sorry to hear the background for the video.
My web source didn't mention any details about the incident, so I didn't know that there were casualties.
Nothing funny about events were people are killed and/ or injured...
An event to keep in mind as we are approaching new years eve...
Remember that fireworks are indeed explosives and that the emergency rooms all around the world are filled up each year.
Going to have a drink? -Let someone else handle the fireworks...
Enschede you say, Hans? Then they've surely had their share of accidents... Wasn't that the city with the terrible train accident a few years ago also? |

Did I say it was funny?
I said it was badass as in very spectacular.
If it was funny I would have said,
"wow, that was funny" or "LOL, I bet those dudes got fried". |

Ok Joe no offence it is rather spectacular to see....
Yeah that was the big question, WHY put a depot so close or better said IN the city...prolly the city expanded and it was built outside years ago....or they got permits in some stange way....
Well anyway since it happened there's been a major increase in severe fireworks regulations...that being said I am gonna get me a big box of fireworks today... |
