Dave at B and T, or anyone else: Know anyone who can install a recessed Floyd on an arched top Icon for me? I want two, an Amberburst and the Blue Quilt. Gregory? Got a top notch install/tech? Shoot me a quote for these two, with cases and gold plated double locking floyds. I'm a iconmaniac, and I don't care who knows it. Hey, I'm not wearing any pants! |

I will check it out and see what can happen. The Icon's are going bye bye from what I have been told. I will see what I can get my hands on. Floyds on an archtop are tricky but I will see what my tech can do. Chris can do it if anyone can. By the way, Goldie is the stuff.

Thanks Dave! I am looking at the world differently from now on! I almost died in a big ole fireball at a plastics/gas refinery today! The mushroom cloud was 600 feet in the air! I was two feet away from the blast, on the other side of a forty foot high concrete wall, thank god! But it got warm, like RIGHT NOW! I ran like a mutha, picked up a two-hundred-an-some pound man who stumbled in front O' me like he was a football. Man was I pi$$ed off! We were forming up a concrete job and tying rebar when it lit up. I told them they can stick that place in their a$$! Was wearing a nomex suit, but it singed the ends of my ponytail, dammit! |

They're discontinueing the Icon? Why? Gottta bunch of em on ebay. Maybe I need to snag em, eh? Do the special selects have wood binding like the eVos'? I had some korean Icon ASV's a while back, but none were special selects. Those inlays are calling to meeeeee! |

OK, been doing some research. I think I can do the floyd install myself. And I see the Icon Special Select duzzz have wood binding , coool! I'm thinking I don't need a Hardtail if I can get two of these Icons set up w/floyds. And I'm rethinking the gold finsih. Chrome will do fine... I've built and routed out a few solid body guitars, just no archtops, yet. But I found templates for it, so here goes! Maybe I can be weaned offa Strats yet!(don't count on it!) PS., my little eVo special iz a screamer, now! DiMarzios made a big Ole difference! |

that piezo has been up a few times in the last couple months, never had the cash, and it never hit the reserve. Looks like it will sell this time. Too bad I'm on a "no new guitars till the doa 2004 mls" mandate from the wife. |

Yeah Tom, I watch ebay now and then, but ya know what? I'm a pansy when it comes to buying sumthin when ya never know whats' been done do it, or by who... I bought a coupla avalanche mqs', but only paid $99 fer one and $112 fer the other. Not a big risk, ya know what I mean? When I gave up on making them into what I wanted and traded em in, I made out BIG TIME! One even hadda fookin hard shell case(which I kept ) I guess the peizo thing is interesting, but that top just duzn't whack me eyeballs the way I need em to. I like the sano/controls of the special selects better, too. Nice and clean like the eVos'. That's the biggest thing that keeps me from throwing down onna Hardtail. I don't wanna look at knobs man, just gimme wood! My approach nowadays is a tube amp on the pipe, and I fiddle with my volume and pickup selector rather than changing channels, etc. No effects, save fer a little 'verb, and an occasional delay stop box. That's why I luv my strats, the pickup switch options. I USE EM ALL! Back the vol. off and it cleans up the ole 12AX7's and EL34's. Wind 'er up and it's growl city! Yeah, I'm the only guy with a tan in Iowa in December, sheeeez! |
