Hey guys...sorry no pix yet...just posting what I'm gonna need in the near future for it...
Chrome Grovers
Dean neck (pref. duckbill 'stock but I'll take any of the smaller ones)
1 Dimebucker
Either 1 Dean Rail Humbucker & a single Rail pup or 2 singles, depending on what the body is drilled for that I'm getting (tomorrow) from Mike
5 way Switch, etc. (parts)
Whatever bridge it's routed for in chrome
More info to come to'w when I get the body. I'll post pix of the body so you guys can see what I'm gonna need.

OK here goes...Jackson style strat body routed for a trem from the looks of it, so the above mentioned HSS configuration will be what I need...I'd prefer to keep everything chrome since the finish will not really look good with anything else, so lemme know if you can help out (I'm not asking for handouts, so don't think I am...just don't have much money so I figured I'd aske here first since it'd probably come out cheaper that way) |

I forgot to measure the neck pocket, but it should be 2-3/16" standard Strat pocket. It takes a vintage 6 screw tremolo measure the screw spacing, or you could drill and install a two post floating trem - I think I have one of each I'll LYK later. I have everything else you'd need for it so if Rich doesn't LMK. You might have a hard time fitting a duckbill neck to that body as I believe the scale length on those Deans is 24-3/4 and that is a 25-1/2 scale body. What color are you going to paint it? |

AHHH...so I'm probably gonna have to get a jackson neck or something? That's what the body style looks like...that or ibanez. Well, when it comes to paint, I'm gonna try it a few times on other pieces of wood cuz it ain't gonna be easy. I'm gonna try to do a nice flame job...coming from the top of the body in a mirage style paint (aka chameleon), the outline in light light blue and the rest of the body in a medium color blue (but still fairly light). Looking to put in a Dimebucker and 2 Dean rails. Should look cool and sound ok...I have NO experience in soldering for anything like this, so we'll see how it works out. |

That's a standard shape neck pocket a Strat, or Kramer will fit it fine - I have a couple of hockey stick necks - I'll see what I have in stock that will fit a Strat pocket that's not too expensive. Soldering is easy enough once you get the hang of it. Like anything else guitar related ----> practice, practice, practice |

Dean Avalanche are standard strat 25 1/2 inch scale. however, teh neck pockets are a bit longer on the avalanche, I'll measure mine against my strat tonight to find out if there is more pocket towards the headstock than a standard strat, or if the neck sits further into the body. |

okay, compared my strat and avalanche, and here are the results. The neck pocket on the avalanche does indeed extend an extra 1/8-1/4" into the body towards the bridge. By doing this, the entire 22 frets are over the maple neck, unlike a fender 22 fret job where the last 1/4" of fret board is over the body or the pickguard, not the neck. unfortunately, this means that if you tried to put an avalanche neck on a strat, the intonation would be hosed and the guitar unplayable, unles you had enough play in your bridge saddles to seat them all back 1/4". |

OK so no Dean neck...well, that kinda ruins things...oh well at least it'll be a good experience to put together SOMETHING, even if it's not exactly what I want! Pix to come tomorrow afternoon. Thanks for the help, Somerled. |
