I was just thinking about this and was wondering when we might see a USA Dean with a trem. I mean...there has been alot of talk around here about Dean Guitars trying to grab some of the PRS market with the Hardtail...but...there is no Hardtail with a trem.
I rarely use a trem...well actually I never use it during lead work...only for occassional chord changes to add some flavor.
I'm not a "whammy king" but it is a tool I use occasionally and like on my guitars. |

+1, Floyds on the ML's... Atleast on the "flame" ML's... |

Interesting thought.
As for my self, I wanted a guitar with a Floyd so I bought a Jackson DK-2....
I have decided that my next guitar will be a fixed bridge model (DOA ML?).
Of course you can create many cool effects with the whammy, but it also represents some limitations!
Kinda difficult to get the sound I want when striking two or more strings and bending just one... |

A more standard type. I've gotten used to the one that I use on the PRS.
I'd like to see Dean make there own proprietary design... |

I've asked the same thing in the past. A standard type trem on a hardtail, for those of us that don't do a lot of wammy abuse, just a tug here and there. 'course, then it wouldn't be a hardtail. Guess it would have to be called at softtail at that point right? |

Sounds about right to me, but the lawyers at Harley-Davidson might not like it. HardTails, SoftTails, eVos next we'll have a TwinCam 88 guitar. |

You're kidding, right? A Whammy Pedal instead of a Whammy Bar? Not similar in the least. Anyway, I think a Floyd would be the only way to go, even though I have Kahlers on all my guitars, except my ML Select of course. But Kahlers are out of the question, and out of business. Kahlers that are set up correctly dive almost just as deep, it's a fact. AND............you actually have a hand rest on a Kahler, unlike a Floyd. But I like Floyds just fine. All ML's should have a Floyd, Z's and V's too. IMHO. Ricco |

Naaah, instead they should make like 2 different versions of the USA Series, one with floyd and one with Tune-o-matic.... |

Nick : My Whammy died and I'm currently using a Boss Super Shifter. It's a good alternative to look into dude.
Ricco : I believe we've had this conversation before. Floyds and Kahlers to some are just an inconveniance. Lots are hard to manipulate and have terrible effects on your axe. The pedal gives you far more control in my opinion. |

They [avalanche] are like a Strat trem, but not great having a zinc block and all. I put a solid brass Hipshot trem with a steel block in this new Strat of mine and it's the best standard 2 post trem I've ever seen. I know some builders use a Gotoh trem unit with a Callaham block, but I haven't tried one of those. |
