Ok here's the deal.
I just got hold of a record of this guy Chris Whitley.
He plays the dobro, and it kicks MAJOR a$$!!
Has a dobro ever been considered as a Dean product? Is it very difficult to build in comparison with the current Dean line of products?
Man, I wish I could play like that! |

A friend of mine is a seriously good country guitar guy. A couple of years ago he tought himself to play pedal steel and is now one of the best in the area. For Christmas, he bought himself a relatively inexpensive dobro and is having a blast with it. I know most live players prefer to mike them, but my friend's looking to wire it up. Do you know if anybody makes/sells aftermarket pickups for dobros? |

Dean makes several round and square neck resonator guitars. They truly are great products at a great price.
Sinker, have your friend check out Barcus Berry's Dobro pickup. I just traded for a "Dobro Brand" dobro that had a Barcus Berry on it and it sounded killer.

Benkia: That's correct:
Check out Chris Whitley's "Phonecall from Leaveworth" and you'll see what I mean....
One man and his guitar, I still can't grasp the amount of music and rhythm produced!! |

That's sort of my point. Half of the threads I saw on the first page of the General Forum really should have been in other areas. If people posted to the proper areas, those areas would get used and it would be easier to find the good stuff without having to wade through all the crap in the General Forum. |
