Hey guys... Hope all is well.

Ok, so lately, I've become bored of buying the same old guitar shapes... V's ... Les Paul's ... ML's etc...

I've been GASing for a Ryan Waste "M.W" but it turns out, it's completely a one off.

I could shape a slab to it, and I was thinking of sticking a bolt on Dean Neck onto it, although, a BC RICH would probably fit the style more. I'm not fussed at the moment.

I say shape, because I really don't have the tools to route the pickup and wiring areas.

I've seen on a eBay a Pre-drilled body slab for a strat, all you do is shape the body's curves. So all the pots and pickups sections are all done.

Anyone know places that sell them online ? The strat one didn't have space around the routes for the M.W project hence why I'm asking you guys.

Cheers all. Stay well.

Also, doesn't matter really about being a hardtail or floyded, I'm keen for either.

Slab doesn't really have to be oversized, Ryan's MW seems to be a lot larger than a King v. If they come square, to the length of a king v would be fine, that's the size body I'd be going for.

I'm assuming the process would be easy, simple mapping out of the shape, cut around with a jig, then many hours spent sanding.

Luckily, I have the facilities for painting.

Any help with getting a better shape surface would be helpful. How to get the slight bevel so perfect around the edging. That seems like it could be difficult.

guitarfetish.com is have a pretty good sale on bodies right now. They apparently bought out a closed factory, and are selling them dirt cheap, even some necks. As for the quality, I can't say, but they have some pretty nice "Dinky" type bodies for a real good price...... right around $50, routed and finished. Might be worth a look.

Thanks for the info dude... Sadly they are already shaped. I need the slab of wood, that's been routed. So all i need to do to it, is cut the body shape out of the block.

I suppose, I need a slab the size of an ML, that's been routed for pickups, Bridge, and volume and tones, with a toggle switch down with the controls... I say ML because the shape I'm making is like the gut edge of the ML... symmetrically.

I would post a photo but I'm on my IPhone.

Finding a body blank that is already routed, but not shaped, might turn out to be a real challenge.
Do you have any local custom guitar builders in your area that could help you out?

Another option is to find a body that is routed, cut off the wings and glue new ones on, then shape it. Not sure how good you are with woodwork, but might be the most cost effective way to go.

I hope you find what you are looking for, good luck!

Hopefully other members can be more help than I was.

You could probably work something out with Jon from Bootlegguitars.com. Send him an email or hit him up on Facebook.

Thank you dudes...

I did think about shaping a king v, and adding wings to the side, not sure how long it would last on there though haha..

I'll check them out, cheers.

I've messaged the people on eBay, turns out they sell slabs and even route what specs you want into it. Also he said they'd cut the entire body for me, so I've got to draw the shape.. And send it to them so they can price it up.

I'll keep you guys posted, I may be making a hardtail DFH from an old DBDT, it's about time I've learned to airbrush. Haha..

Stay safe all.
