Alright guys it's been a while, I used to post on here as jamesstitt but since I got a new laptop I completely forgot my login dets and old e-mail and couldn't get onto my account.
So where am I at now? I'm in my second year of guitar building in London and it is awesome, very hard and very stressful but when it comes together it makes up for it. In my first year I finished a travel guitar, which in all honesty is not a good instrument but I learnt a lot and being my first hand made guitar I couldn't be prouder, Now I'm working on a Parlour guitar.
I'm still rocking the silverburst tele! and have started modding my 50s vibe squier tele. Got some emg-t's in the post today and started getting them in but also plan on getting a b5 conversion kit and sticking that on over the next few days.
Pics (mostly ipod/instagrammers):
Travel guitar
Bad instagram pic of gear
Tele scratchplate
EMGs
Parlour guitar progress thus far: Mahogany back and sides, Mahogany neck, spruce top and either ebony or rosewood fingerboard.
back being joined
Peace! |

Sorry for the delay folks! internet went down in my house so had a bit of a blackout.
Thanks for the warm re-welcome! glad to see some old faces. I have the EMGs in the tele now. The solderless connections were a bit confusing at first but I got my head around that. Also the quick-connect end pieces are a bit bulky so I had to file the holes between cavities a bit larger to accomodate. Also I hve nowhere to put the battery so what I've done so far is take out the tone pot and stick it there until I can get my hands on a router.
All in all the pickups are ok. They do help retain the tele twang but are a bit flat, like all EMGs I guess. I'll see if i can get a sound sample up along with pics to compare with my mexican tele soon; pretty bogged down with work at the moment. |
