Just got this dean z autograph and can't find out much about it. I know its made in the mid 80s but would like to know what kind of wood its made of and any other knowledge I can acquire. Thankful for any help I can get.

New to this and don't know how to add pics yet but I will asap. I think its the only guitar I've ever seen with a white neck and fret board. In the fat strat style. Has a metal pick guard which is also unique from what I've seen. Sweet looking guitar and sounds and plays good now that I have set up like I like it.

I used to sell these. ....and I don't know what it was made out of, but it was an economy wood.

I refinished one of those for JD Won. Unfortunately it is a plywood body. His was hot pink with a white fretboard.

That was marketed as "Rock-It-Red."

Thanks for the info, I was afraid it was plywood. Oh well, it plays well and sounds good still. And looks good for gettin near 30 years old. Paid peanuts for it so I think ill keep around.

Alan,

I think the body you refinished for me was from a Jackson so it'd make sense that that body would be plywood. I do, however, have a body from another Dean Autograph that had that god awful Accutune bridge. I'll bring that body over next time I see you.
