I promised I would put up some in progress pics of my PRS 22 build, so here they are!

-Body: 1 piece black limba (2" thick)

-Neck: 1 piece honduran mahogany

-Fingerboard: 1 piece pau ferro

-25" scale

-22 frets

-12" radius

-fender style trem (stainless steel saddles)

-master volume

-master tone

-3 way toggle

-black hardware

Haven't decided on the pickups yet but I just acquired a DD, so I'ma post a pickup suggestion thread to see what suggestions I get.

It looks like you're doing a great job man! Have you built guitars before?

It's nice to see those clean cuts and routing.

Keep up the good work and post more pics. Also, please post pics of any of your other work.

Shorty.

Thank you sir.

I've built 3 in the past, but they were all bolt-on bodies.

This is my first complete build (neck). Boy, shaving that neck profile
was a b*tch Laughing
I matched it as close as i could to the ZW LP profile. Tad thicker tho.

I'm getting ready to make a Tele for myself and a semi-hollow Firebird for the other guitarist in my band.

Watching this.....looks great, man. Did you chamber it just for the weight? Is black limba pretty heavy?

It's not chambered....solid 2" thick ---> should be a tone monster. Cool

Yeah it's pretty heavy, but more likely due to the size than the wood itself.

IDK if it's alot heavier than other woods or not. This is the only
piece I've dealt with.

Limba (Korina) is supposed to sound like the combination of honduran mahogany and a thick maple top.
Whether or not black limba differs from white ("regular"), I'm not sure.

Really, really resonant. I picked this piece out of about 5 other boards, and
did the "tap test", and this one rang the most.

As for workability, that's the only downside. It splits like a motherf*cker.
You have to be real slow and careful.
It's nothing like poplar or alder where you can route a body in 15 minutes, lol.
