Hi,
Quick introduction: I got a door-opening offer from Microsoft to be a developer and publish applications for Windows 8 and Windows Phone. Making an app for Android or iOS is no bigger deal, the difference is that I'll have to pay a registration fee ;]

Here's my proposition:
I have to come up with a project idea and present it next week.
I thought that something musically useful and different than 10 keys piano simulator would be cool.
What would like to see in an app for musicians? Let's share some ideas, I'll make it real and you will be able to download it for your smartphone/tablet next month(...or 2Laughing). If someone does that kind of stuff, let me know so we can team up. Cool
And the best part: I set the price Twisted Evil(it also means that app can be for free)

Just brainstorming here. A few (probably silly) ideas:

1. An app that displays all of the popular forums (including this one) in a format that is easily viewable on a small screen.

2. Guitar Tuner (I've seen this on IOS, and Android, but not on win8).

3. An amp sim would be cool, but I don't know how you would handle physical I/O without some kind of adaptor. Bluetooth possibly??? But honestly, I would pay big bucks for an iOS/Android/Win8 app that could replace my Korg Pandora.

4. On the same idea as an amp sim (and easier to do), how about a "trainer" that had a drum machine (different rhythms and tempos) and bass (different lines and keys). Simply plug your phone into into your PA (or speakers) and jam along.

So what happens if we give you the golden idea of the century? Not to sound mercenary or anything, but what's our cut if our ideas get you a Microsoft deal?

This, gonna sound like a complete icehole, I have a couple of ideas I personally think kick ass. But why do something for free for someone you don't personally know, or even converse online with on a semiregular basis for them to try to make money off of?

1. If somebody buys the app, I get 80% of it.
2. App will be free so my income=$0(I can share, no problem Laughing )

The deal for me looks like this: If my app turns out to be good, I have a chance for 3 months practice in Redmond.

I have no opinion about this. I would however like a BJ app though I don't think they make that kind of interface yet Laughing

Sorry Jim, had to Laughing

Well, you can do whatever you want. I'm just here to ask for some help and then make something useful for people(that's the whole idea behind every computer program, isn't it?). Nobody forces you to share a million dollar idea for free.

Simple "hey let's make a tab reader/tuner" would much more appreciated...if that's too much then keep hating.

I'd really like to see an app with streamable/pre-downloaded backing tracks. So you have an icon for Metal, Blues, Rock, Jazz, etc. and you can just plug some speakers/headphones in and jam away. Number of different keys and you can manually adjust tempos.

what would be cool is a on the go recording app that doesnt distort in a live situation and an eq for playback.something simple that auto detects mic volume.
