Hi,
Anyone has some information about the hardtail series? Especially the japan ones?
I was looking for a hardtail pro japan and found many different guitars. In which year the guitars were built? Something changed between the years? (pickups, top, finish?)
Hope you guys can help me!
Sorry, bad english, i'm a german guy... |

It didn't seem as though the characteristics or features of the line changed from year to year. Years of manufacture? I think the line began in 2004/2005 and were finally discontinued about three years ago. The Hardtail Pro of Japanese manufacture was (I think....) only made for a short period of time and not distributed within the US market. Which sucks, as I've wanted to get hands on one for a very long time.
Here's the start of a list. I'll expect others to chime in and fill in the gaps for what I've missed or incorrectly stated.
Hardtail Standard / Korea - all solid color finishes
Hardtail Select / Korea - figured laminate tops
Hardtail Select with Trem (yes, a contradiction) / Korea
Hardtail Pro / USA - natural satin finish
Hardtail MHG(mahogany) / USA - natural satin finish and some solid color finishes
Hardtail Pro / Japan - very little was ever conveyed here in the USofA about this model
Hardtail Pro with Trem / Japan - very little was ever conveyed here in the USofA about this model
Hardtail / USA
Hardtail Exotics / USA - highly figured, spalted or unique tops |

It has passive Alnico HZ EMGs in them. Very nice indeed. Much better than stock HZ's IMO.
Nice score. They were not cheap but they were all first class.
Which colour did you get? |
