In the short time I have been reading this forum I have noticed there are a ton of diverse players in this community. I have done a lot of searching on the internet and the info I am getting seems really stale, so I thought I might try getting some info here
My wife and I play in a hard/metal band and she plays a Wood Viper violin through a Tube Driver by BK Butler into a Fishman 100W amp. Lately she has been less pleased with the sound she is getting and is wanting to get more crunch out of her sound. We have access to a couple tube amps, which I think will help warm up the sound, a 70's Marshall JMP and a Fender Bassman 135. I am wondering if anyone has worked with a violin player that uses distortion to get some tips as to whether we are going down a rabbit hole, or if we are on the right track.
