I hated the giant "ML" on the factory one, so I removed it adn sent it to a member here along with some funds who has promised to make me a new one with some better looks. that was middle august and while he's taken my money he's produced nothing. I did get a quick note the first week of october apologizing an promising it would go "right out" - I still have not received it.
So - all this brings me to - "WHERE can I get a new truss rod cover for my guitar? at this point?" |

I'd like to know this too actually. I could probably make one if someone would trace it for me, but haven't gotten anyone to do that yet! I need one for my E'Lite... |

Jake, I'll send you the one I have from my ML, if you'll make one for dude up there too and send it to him, and then send mine back.
Deal?
Also Pariah, if that's indeed the entire story, PM me dude's identity so I can stay the f*ck away from this cheater. Thanks. |
Do you just have a scanner? If you can scan the cover I can get the outline and that's all I need to make it! Or just take a picture head on and measure the bottom flat and I can probably come up with something. I should be able to make it, I just don't want to make any promises before I prove I can! |

Maybe both sides on a piece of paper? I really appreciate it, brother! |

FYI, a newer ML truss rod cover will not fit on a vintage E'lite. I have an 81 E'lite if someone needs the TRC scanned. You are on your own with the ML. But I need a truss rod cover for a 1978 Z Standard. They were brass back then, but I dont think I'll be finding a correct replacement, so I'll probably have to get something made up for it. |

Brad,
Can you scan the 81 trc and send the scan to me? I need to make one here for mine. I'm going to see what I can do for the guy here but need to make one for mine as well! |

Hey Goat, this totally slipped my mind. You still need me to scan that TRC for you?
Happy New Year. |

Who was it? You could save one of us from dealing with them. |

For future reference, you can easily remove the lettering from those truss rod covers by wet sanding them with 1000 grit sand paper. |

My 1979 Z has a brass TRC, and I have seen photos of others with brass TRC. I guess I assumed that was period correct. But I have gone through some other vintage photos and notice a lot of them with plastic TRCs as well. So now I dont know. But the brass TRC on my 79 looks cools thought. |

Well I could name the man, but I don;t think many would like to see it. One of those "careful what you wish for" kind of things. Besides, realistically its a sub $20 thing and not worth making a huge hassle over an trying to ruin somebodies lfe - I don't need an internet witch hunt.
I do however need to find a replacement. Hopefully "guitargoat" can make one for us. |
