Just picked up a Zoom Q3HD. This is a really awesome tool for recording on the fly. So easy just press the record button. The external mics self-adjust to clipping too which is pretty badass. Got some internal options on the menu but not really a whole lot to mess around with. Records pretty damn well too....i was suprised at the sound quality of these little things. Have to do some recording next band practice and post something up. Has HD video too so you can record audio and video or turn the camera off and it'll record in WAV files which are much smaller and can be converted to MP3 to email and what not. Here's the link for the device at Musiciansfriend and there are a ton of videos of it on youtube. If you're looking for something to quick and easy record yourself or your band practices may wanna consider this little unit cuz it's pretty rad...

Ya man....no doubt. My Father promotes blues bands here in the DFW area and he uses one of these to record the bands live in the bar. Puts it on a tripod and hits record...that's it. The quality of the sound that it picks up in a bar setting is pretty unreal. When I first listened to one of the recordings I thought it was going to sound like ass but it's really defined and the low end is entact. See if I can find a clip that he recorded with this camara. What made me want to buy one...
Here you go....band called Voodoo Blue. A friend of ours that does a SRV tribute....don't think you could find a SRV tribute band that has it down as cold as this kid does....check it...
