Billions of YouTube views have been axed from popular music videos after they discovered that the views were being faked by the artists record labels.

What an utter caricature the music business is.

It was said that the same thing is happening with President Obama's twitter page and facebook page.

He truly is the Reality TV, American Idol President.

That's GREAT to see! I know the 3k views on my band's video are real because it took 2 years to get them hahahaha... I am happy to see YouTube throwing down the hammer on these morons. Twisted Evil

+1. I read a few months ago that on twitter you can buy "followers". Seems quite lame, me and my 6 followers are doing just fine.

I do have a video on YouTube of my dads bulldozer and just checked, over 20,000 views Laughing

I did a review of a MXR pedal in 2010 that is over 42,000 view now. I almost forgot about the video but went and looked at it was like HOLY CRAP lol... I know my band has an OK number of LIKES on FB and someone once accused us of "buying" likes but that seems funny to me. I don't buy my friends hahaha. I can't see how buying fake fans can help a band at all... Fake views on YouTube maybe because of advertising money that gets kicked back. I know that I made $30.65 in the last year on YouTube though. That's honest money Laughing Laughing Laughing

I was just thinking about that. I'm thinking about turning the empty corner of my livingroom into a product review corner and doing this. Since we're in the studio recording a new album I have all of our show gear here so all the mics and our monitor board is here including our Presonus 1818VSL... I just have to set this all up so I can get a good, true sound for video.

I can't even make that, because I posted Dave Mustaine making his famous GLAM statement. But I'm surprised I got over 70000 hits on it, and allot of people arguing over it. Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

The more they argue the better lol... My vid was on the MXR Fullbore Metal which is either hated or loved and people are very opinionated. You just sit back and watch the carnage in the comments section lol...

yea there are some programs companies buy that use key words to seek out posts, forums, blogs, facebook, etc and fill up the search results in a email bucket, they hire people to go through the bucket and read the posts and reply, posts ads, fake reviews and all that. My old company used to do it. its a quite popular practice in this day and age of digital media. You see it frequently in reviews. Especially if you see someone reply and argue a previous post. chances are its not a real consumer. It's a company saving face on their product. There is another one that lets you contact the owner of the server to find out who is renting the drive space so you can contact and have reviews altered or removed by using some defamation of character act.
