It's dirty and needs a serious cleaning but should turn out really nice. Seems much lighter than the others I had. Pics later. |

Got it plugged in, with all 5 strings, and had forgotten how HUGE the EMGs sound. Even with dirty old used strings they're awesome!
Also picked up a vintage Electra X230 with OHSC.

Thanks. I looks clean in the pic but its pretty dirty, I'm just feeling lousy today and don't feel like cleaning it. She's gonna shine though, this one will hurt to sell. |

Thanks. The Electra has more than its share if dings around the back edges but the top is in excellent shape. The bridge is also a Gibson. The last owner lost a couple of saddles from the original and couldn't find replacements so he put the Gibson one on there. With the 5 way rotary knob and two mini toggles there are a ridiculous amount of tones coming out of this thing. I may try and keep the Caddy if I can just sell the other stuff I have for sale. I can't give away that Stylist I have or the Fender Abigail Ybarra CS69 pickups. People are paying more on eBay than I have mine for BIN. Makes no sense. |

Fan or openbook headstock on that Electra?
I know people who actively chase the 1976 only openbook version |

Fan, 77-81. I'm always amazed at the quality of the old Dean imports. I don't remember when the Selects went away but this thing is just super solid. I'm taking a break and letting the second coat of lemon oil settle.

Is there anything a Dean brother/member can say to cause a revolt? I'll find out soon...I love the Cadillacs and love that Electra. I absolutely cannot stand EMGs and V headstocks. None of my Cadillacs has the obtrusive, massive V. I may have to start a new topic on this...we will see. The Natives have spoken.

I like the traditional Dean V headstock as long as it is not the super wide version. The ECS Czech's had the best version headstock, small and compact. It also looks best on a V body |

Love that Caddy Lon, I can see why you would want to keep her. |
