Wait, wait. Dean, is making an SG thing? If this looks good and they are doing USA's me and my new job just might be getting a custom order. |

So the SG thing will now be the GS (Gran Sport.) Pretty sneeky Dean.
(Some of you that are old like me may get the "sneeky" reference. For those who don't, there is a method to my madness.) |

I'll have to look thru them, I was using a friends camera and a few pix didn't come out.
But I did see the GS and it was Kewl.., like the SG meets the ESP version of that shape.
But Dean'ish if that makes sense. |

Hmm, a Dean-style SG, this could be interesting. Let's be blunt here, there is nothing like a Gibson SG, except maybe, maybe a Japanese Orville SG. Should Dean get one on the market I hope it has a non-V headstock, but we will see.

As odd as it may sound in the Dean forum, but I'm mainly a Reverend, Rickenbacker and Gretsch cat, oh, and Gibson, so I don't know exactly what a T-bred headstock is. I rarely see anything but a V.
What does it look like?

Oh, I'm glad to help. First, go to the main Dean homepage. Then go to products, and select electrics. Go down that page to almost the bottom to Standard Series. In that grouping will be the Dean Throughbred. Click on it, and it will have full body pictures of the Throughbred including the headstock.
I hope that helps you out. Take care. |

The SG is my last one I want to find. I don't own any and it was my first guitar. The Viper series did zero for me. If this one stays natural and is USA i might hop on it. |

Honesty time. The headstock is an abomination. If you're going to use a body style that is a well-established model for another manufacturer, I would think it would be prudent business to make your version somehow stand out (in a positive way) from all of the other clones. |

I'd have to say I'm not feeling it; Body looks off, inlays are boring, headstock is pretty nasty. I'm sure it plays nice though
Never really could get into the ESP Vipers either. |

That's exactly what I thought, maybe at least a flame/quilted maple veneer instead of straight to the mahogany and lose the inlays altogether, then I might be interested. Would prefer covered pups as well but those can easily be swapped out. |

USAs will be at NAMM available for order (limited edition run).

The only thing slightly wrong with the Guild S-100 is the lower bout which is a bit short, but actually, it doesn't really bother me. I'd opt for ownership!

I wish they would have used the old EVO headstock logo as well. I understand branding is important, but the "wings" logo takes up a third of that headstock and looks strange having it so big on that style of headstock. |
