What are the main tonal and design differences between the 2?
I'm looking for a back up head on the "cheap" and am looking at some Sunns (wish I could afford a Model T )

The Beta's are probably the best of the SS Sunn's IMO. Very warm sounding SS amp that many say is akin to a tube amp. The reverb is the best on the planet also. I don't see too many Beta's go cheap unless they have issues or in the case of the combos, switched speakers. The footswitch is tough to come by also
The Beta Lead is my favorite SS amp of all time and is incredibly LOUD
