Hi all,at the moment i have no amp and have been playing through my Pc. using "Guitar Rig" amp simulator software. Also using a program called "Overloud"(th2)
i have a decent pc and 5.1 surround sound and my sound card and hub is made by "Creative Audigy2-zs"
sounds amazing wish i had bigger speakers.great through a decent headset as well.
I also use a program called FL Studio 10.
does anyone else use pc software?or Amp simulators? One real cool thing about them is that the combinations are endless as far as effects and amp set ups you can use.with just Guitar Rig alone i can get any sound i want. For example> i can hit a button and get the same exact set up that Santana uses for "Black magic woman"and im not spending one dime pedals.Tts all there.any amp, etc...
whats your opinion on the best PC/Guitar software?
for some reason i cannot get Amplitube to work properly. This is the one from what i understand is the best because it is licenced by Fender,Marshall, etc.. and actually uses this company to do their digital effects.

i use a line 6 guitar port into amplitube metal, podfarm 2, and and overloud TH-2.
The most important thing are the speakers. You really want some proper studio monitors for recording. On your surround sound it may sound fine, but If you record the mix will be off. My rig sounds great. I can play loud as hell, and when I hit record, it captures exactly what I hear.

I did notice when i record it is "off" as you say.or "weak" sounding when listening to playback.I need to get an amp.We have bad flooding here and i lost a lot of gear in "06"(Roscoe, NY,livingston manor area)Bunch of vids on Youtube about it here.I wont even buy a flat screen tv until i move.
Last time it got bad i grabbed all my guitars and put them in the truck. My wife was pissed off at me and i had to explain..dont worry honey, i was coming back for you.I got a Mmmhmmm reply.lol
back to the topic.I really cant afford to spend a lot of cash on gear, the Amp simulators satisfy my needs at the moment.last night i played for 4 hours.did a set with Gilmore.
Youtube is great for that and also a great learning tool.

I use a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 interface, and I run it through Amplitube 3. I use it for recording, and for practicing at home, as my rig is at the practice space.
I get compliments on my guitar tone in my recordings all the time, until I tell them it's modeled. Then the cork sniffers come in and tell me that they can tell the difference, and they knew something was up with it. |

th2 works nice, i like how i can add the cabinets and adjust the mics to suite my purpose. |
