I just picked up a Hughes and Kettner Tubemeister 36.

Running it through a Bogner 2x12 with a vintage 30 and a greenback 25.

Not getting the bottom end out of it I thought I would.

Anyone have any recommendations on a cab or set of speakers that'll help beef it up a little? I'd prefer to stay with 2x12 due to space/logistics issues.

I've got an OD I use on the lead channel when I solo.

I'm thinking that it may just be a volume thing; maybe I'm not pushing it hard enough. Always open for suggestions, though.

I'll hit Lanning up on FB a little later; he was actually the one who turned me on to this amp in the first place.

Speakers are a good part of it, but if you're playing ina band situation, you'll never hear any bas one the actual bass player starts playing.

Don't get me wrong. I'm aware of all that, I just wanna beef it up a little bit. I haven't had much luck with multi band EQs; I get alot of hiss and it seems like my noise gate pulls things down too much. I'm just wondering if there's a better combination of speakers that might give it a little more oomph and still stay in the midrange.

For what its worth I've been running "hellatones", which are a broken in version of Vintage 30's, and I've alwys found them to be pleasantly Rude in the low midragnge to midrange, which to me is where all the crunch is. A quality cabinet constructed of 13 ply birch offers the best compromise between absolute strength through all weathers, humidities and conditions [plus drops and bangs and bruises on the road] and sound quality.

An EQ right full of rich gooey midrange cuts through the mix and gives you some muscle. burn those tubes up and push the speakers too. It ALL combines together to equel your true "tone".

Dude! If you wanna try a BBE Sonic Stomp Maximizer pedal you're more than free to try or even keep mine if you want Laughing I get plenty of bottom end through my pair of G12T-75's and V30's with my Bugera 6262. On top of that, I'm in the market for a Tubemeister 36 and would love to hear it in person. And if anything, I can bring my 4x12 and we can jam it out to hear how it sounds. Let me know!

This. Your other option is to switch it for a G12H30, which is a monster speaker with tons of tight bass. If your interested in trading the Greenback for a G12H30 let me know. I have an extra one I could part with.
