Switched some things around on my board this evening.
First thing I did, was get rid of all the crap. I said goodbye to my Wireless, Chorus, Phaser, and Delay.
Then, instead of using my ZW OD as a boost for solos, I ran the board this way instead.
Guitar -> Wah -> Rotovibe -> ZW OD -> Clean Boost -> JC22H
The Overdrive, the gain is set at 0%, and the tone at 45%, and the level is set so that there is no increase of volume when it's on.
And it stays on ALL THE TIME now. It tightens up / thickens up the tone of the amp. The amp has the gain at about 33%.
The Boost pedal is for Solos only. I get my cleans from rolling the volume back.
It sounded glorious.
You're just going to have to take my word for it. Because I didn't record it. |

And I farted on a snare drum and it sounded better than Lars on the St. Anus record....
Take my word for it.. |

I use my SD-1 with almost identical settings to your ZW OD. I also use a Dyna Comp with the sensitivity low (no squish) and the output dimed which also seems to tighten up my tone and adds just a touch of dirt. What are you using for a pedalboard? I have a ton of crap on my pedalboard too and I had to build my own because I couldn't find anything big enough for my needs already available. |

And all those pedals fit on it? |

There aren't too many things more satifying then a killer tone night. It's amazing what sometimes makes the difference. |

I picked up a JCA22H about a week ago. What a great amp, especially for the money! |

The crunch channel gets a great 80's tone with a boost. On the OD channel I have the gain half way up and it's plenty. I would have no problem bringing the JCA22 instead of my Peavey 6534+ to a gig. Plenty of versatility if you know how to use the volume knob on your guitar. |
