My name is Eddie, I've been using a Dean MLX Classic bass for a year now and I'm LOVING it! Thanks Dean for making kick ass instruments.

Dear Mick,
I had the good fortune of catching Brian Bromberg last night at a show here
in Zürich. He is filling in as the European tour bassist for Lee Ritenour.
The band was steller of course and I just wanted to let you know that it seems
Brian has quite the profile over here. Of the people in the band it was patently
clear that it was he, Alex Acuna and Lee were of some notoriety. Brians reputation
clearly preceeded him.
It was actually quite funny, a number of
times women called out Brians name between songs and right
after his solo. He did seem a wee bit embarassed when that
happened but he got a good laugh out of it at the same time.I
met Brian just about 15 minutes before he went on stage and
we was in person as nice as he has struck me the two times
I have interviewed him.
I envision myself as being reasonably good
a bassist as I have been at it nearly 40 years, but he is
truly stunning. It reset my whole sense of what truly good
is. And so effortlessly. What gets me is he is just a modest
good natured guy. It really is people like him that I most
enjoy interviewing.
His Dean bass cut through beautifully. He
only brought the one electric on stage. I believe it was
this one:
http://brianbromberg.net/basses/bass29.htm
It was warm and articulate, bright without
being metallic sounding, looked great, and I confess for
the first time in as long as I can remember I recall thinking,
'I have got to get one of those!!!'
I will check the Dean site and see if there
are Swiss dealers around here. As you are the one that designed
these basses if I recall our earlier emails, do you know
if Brians bass is particularly customized or can basses like
his be available to drooling magazine editors too? Would
I have to sell my right or my left leg??? LOL
Gonna take a while to get over that concert!

Just wanted to send a big “thank
you” out to Mark at Stix & Strings in Painesville,
Ohio, for all of his assistance while making the decision
to buy my Dean Edge 4 bass. When I walked into his
shop, I wasn’t looking for a Dean, but his enthusiasm
and praise for the Dean line made me take a second look. However,
it was the bass itself that sold me. Absolutely beautiful
looking with a gorgeous finish, a comfortable neck and
high quality hardware. As an aerospace inspector,
I have an eye trained to spot defects and I couldn’t
find a single one (and believe me, I looked!) After
plugging in the Edge 4, I was amazed at its responsiveness
and tonal versatility; I got everything from a smooth jazz
sound to a hard rock growl to a bright slap.
I couldn’t be happier
joining the Dean family of satisfied players and look forward
to my future purchases.

I
picked up My new Dean 6 string Bass last nite from Fireside
Music in Memphis Tennessee. It is My first 6 string bass.
I have been playing an Ibanez Ergodine 5 string for about
6 months and felt I needed to advance. I have been playing
an Ibanez Roadster 4 string proyotype for about 25 years but
This Dean smokes! I played it at a gig the same nite I picked
it up and it performed flawlessly. The neck is wider than
My 5 string but I got used to this quickly and love playing
it! I will not retire My other Axes but My Dean is My Primary
Axe as of now.
Thank You Dean Guitars and David Trim of Fireside Music for
getting Me this Beautiful bass.

| Hi,
My name is Craig I play bass for Who's Next? the UK's
premier live tribute to The Who. I've used a lot of
basses over the years but nothing comes close to my
Dean Demonator and "Z" Tour basses.
Thanks Dean!

Until
I got my hands on my Dean Rhapsody
5 all other bass guitars were inadequate.
For any type of music I play rather
it be country, rock, jazz or blues
nothing compares to my Dean Rhapsody
5.

Thanks for the best bass ever built,
Brian

Hello
Dean,
Wanted
to let you know that the EDGE 5 that I acquired a couple of
months ago is one of the best basses that I have owned. Not
only does the instrument play like a dream it has a finish
and color to rival any bass made. I've own Fender, Gibson,
and Peavey basses and I like yours the best so far. Thanks
for making such a great piece of art!!

Hi
Dean !
Hows everything going ?
First of all, thanks for making the DOA Bass, got the bass
last Wednesday, and it playes fantastic!
Both the playability and the sound are just awesome !! I compare
it to my highend Jackson which not gonna be played no more.
This was my first Dean product, and definitely not the last.
If the quality of this DOA Bass is symptomatic for all the
Dean basses, I think I'll only play Deans here after ! Can't
wait to see and feel a US handcrafted Dean bass !! hehe...
maybe a US Caddy Bass, some day !!??
(I know hehehe I've asked about a US Caddy bass earlier)
But, as far as I know both Elliott and Craig from the forum,
has Vintage Caddy basses.
My question is, do you know how many of those basses was made
in the 80's ?
And, how many are counted for today ?
I probably couldn't afford one if one showed up, and I guess
there are a few on the forum who would do anything to get
one, but I'd like to know the story about the bass !
Thanks
alot to you and Elliott for everything !
Sorry I can't come to the DOA meeting in February, but I hope
and know you all will have a great time.
Kindest
regards
Bernt O.

Dear guys,
I never thought I'd be able to afford an eight string,
let alone one that sounds, feels and plays like my
dean, I've had it for a little over a year now, and
it's gradually become my main guitar. I play in an
acoustic trio, and the HUGE tone that thing has is a
great tool to fatten up the sound of two acoustic
guitars! I can't think of anything I'd change, and
that is a very odd thing for me to say. It was set up
perfectly right off the rack (Bill's music in
baltimore MD) and I have never so much as had to tweak
a truss rod or adjust a saddle. Considering that my
playing style can best be described as "bull in a
china shop", that's sayin' something!! Thanks for the
great bass, at the great price! If you ever need
someone to sing your praises in md, let me know
thanks,
Ward E.
Hey, I
am Nathan Hilbish from Bedford, VA, and I would like to thank
you for making a great 12 string bass, its one of the most
comfortable, and nicest sounding instruments I have ever played.
I have had it for about a year and have no plans to replace
it. I play in the metal band Sypherin, and the 12 string is
just the thing we needed to beef up our sound even more. I
was wondering if you had any plans on Producing a 15 string
bass (5 sets of 3 strings) with the price of the Rhapsody,
or even a 18 string, that would be nice.
Thanks
again,
Nathan H.
Hey,
I just wanted
to contact you to tell you how happy I am with my Edge4 bass.
I was in the market for a new bass about 6 months ago and
had made a deal with this music store on a bass , but when
I got the money to go get it, they changed their mind on the
price they had quoted me. Well, Iwas feelin' down and decided
to keep my old bass when I happened to glance in the window
of another music store. I saw this amberburst bass that just
jumped out at me among all the other solid color black and
red basses they had. I was sure I couldn't afford it, but
in the spirit of any musician, I had to play it to see if
it sounded as good as it looked. It did. the salesman came
over and we talked awhile about it and the price. No more
than fifteen minutes after walking into the store, I walked
out with my first Dean. I can honestly say that my Dean plays
and feels better in the hands {and the wallet} than any $1000.00
bass I've ever played before. Now I'm glad that other store
changed there mind on the price of that other bass. My band
members swear I paid more than what I did for it because my
former bass was twice the price {but half the quality}. So
I just wanted to say thanks to every one at Dean for making
top quality and affordable equiptment for every musician out
there.
Thank you.

I love this
bass. It is the most beautiful, best feeling, greatest sounding
bass I have ever played. I've gone through Warwicks, through
Fenders, through Ampegs, Epiphone, Gibson, you name it. There
is no bass
I've played that can match up to the quality, playability, and
tone as the Razor NT.

High Praise Indeed!
Hello, Dean.
I am compelled to write to you in praise of the Dean Rhapsody
8-string bass. You and your company have certainly produced
a winner.
I purchased mine a little over a year ago and have been enjoying
it ever since. However, to be honest, my first choice for an
8-string was the Rickenbacker 4003S/8. I lusted after one of
these for quite awhile, only to have my aspirations somewhat
deflated by the fact that such an instrument is not only prohibitively
expensive, but the nine month plus wait to have one constructed
and shipped to my local dealer was positively unbearable. There
had to be another way. And there was -- the Dean Rhapsody 8!
I actually took a chance and ordered mine online, since these
basses were absolutely nowhere to be found on the local scene.
Right out of the box, this thing was a winner. Excellently set
up and very playable. Finally, I was now part of the 8-string
world.
Just a few weeks ago, however, a Rickenbacker 8-string bass
presented itself at my local music store. I couldn't believe
my eyes. There it was!
I played the thing and almost instantly fell in love with it.
Now, the only issue was the financial reality of the situation.
After a bit of soul-searching, I decided to trade in my Dean
Rhapsody and use the proceeds as a down payment on the Ric.
After a bit of calculation and several signatures later, the
Ric was mine. The dream was now reality.
Or, was it?
After getting the Ric home, I put it through its paces and almost
immediately felt that foreboding dread that perhaps I had made
a mistake. How could this be? This was a Rickenbacker, for God's
sake! No matter how hard I tried to sugar coat things, the facts
remained. I had traded in a better instrument than the one I
was now holding.
After a sleepless night and several hours of chronic stress
the following day, I returned to the music store and sheepishly
inquired about possibly reversing my trade. Luckily, because
this store has phenomenal customer service, my wish was their
command. As if by magic, time and events had seemingly been
reversed and once again I was the proud (or, shall I say, prouder)
owner of a Dean Rhapsody 8-string bass.
This long-winded saga is merely to impart to you just how magnificent
an instrument the Dean Rhap 8 is. Having intensely compared
it to what I considered to be the pinnacle of "8-string
bass-ness", I am convinced that the Dean is a superior
instrument in every way. Design, construction, features, sound
and playability. The Dean scores higher on every count.
Thank you Dean Guitars for creating such a rewarding musical
instrument.
Best regards,
Anthony R. Kerr

Dean,
I recently bought
a Dean Edge 5 Lefty bass and I just had to write and thank you.
No other major manufacturer that I could find made a 5 string
in a lefty model. In fact, most of the other big brands only
put out their cheapest 4 string in a lefty, if they have a left
handed bass at all. Boy was I surprised when I saw that Dean
not only produces a sizeable lineup of lefty basses and guitars,
but you also have a page just for them on your web site!
Originally I decided
to buy my Edge 5 because it was the only lefty 5 string I could
find without custom ordering, so I didn't have very high expectations.
I couldn't have been more wrong. The tone is outstanding (especially
for the price), and it is easy to play because the 35 inch scale
really helps hold the B string in tight. If I ever need another
bass again I will definitely look for a Dean first.
Thanks for making
your products available to leftys too! Hope you have another
25 years of making great instruments.
