New York's BB King Blues Club played host to Leslie West's heroic return to live music on Tuesday night (Jan.31), reports UltimateClassicRock
It was the first time the former Mountain guitarist has played in public since he was forced to have his lower right leg amputated as a result of diabetes complications.
West opened the show with 'People Get Ready' to which the crowd responded with a standing ovation. However, the New Yorker, known as 'The King of Tone' by fans, was forced to pause halfway through after becoming overwhelmed with emotion.
West was recently forced to cancel a tour because he didn't have an automobile suited to transport his wheelchair. However, the New York show was able to go ahead after Vehicle Production Group presented West with an MV-1 automobile.
