DOA 2012: Dean Guitars Hosts Annual “D.O.A.” Party
posted on 2012-03-07
Dean Guitars brought about 500 of its best customers to it's worldwide HQ in Tampa, FL February 17-18 for the 11th annual Dean Owners of America Party. Members of the Dean Owners of America Club—or D.O.A.—joined the Dean team at the beautiful Kapok Tree Pavilion in Clearwater, FL for Dean's 35th anniversary celebration. The Friday night party included a great BBQ dinner, drinks a plenty and performances by Rusty Cooley, Michael Angelo Batio, David "Evil D" Vincent (Morbid Angel), Derrick Wright (drummer for Adele), Jesse James Dupree and Roman Glick (Jackyl), playing alongside Dean product manager Eric Stewart, Dean artist relations director Josh Maloney and several DOA member jam bands.
On the following day, Dean opened the doors of it's 110,000 square foot facility in Tampa for exclusive factory tours, bringing guests as close to the creation of a Dean USA guitar as is physically possible without putting them to work. D.O.A. members toured the Dean USA Custom Shop, the Dean Vintage collection room, Six-String Masterpieces: The Dimebag Darrell Art Tribute exhibit, DMT Pickup manufacturing lab, and witnessed the unveiling of the 2012 Dean collection in the Dean Artist Room. The weekend closed with “mini-clinics” and Q&As by Cooley and Batio, followed by raffles and giveaways for D.O.A. guests.
