Raised in Indiana, I started playing guitar at 17 and after a couple years I started playing in cover bands.
On my 21st birthday I was at a festival celebrating, last thing I remember 'till I woke up in my totaled car. Yea, you guessed it, and DON'T DO IT, woke up in an ally covered in blood and with my left hand nearly severed at the wrist. Walked 5 + miles to the hospital, went through a couple of surgeries and was blessed enough to keep my hand. After about 2 years I was able to get feeling and movement back in my hand and finally got back to the level I was before the accident. Moved to Tampa to join an all original metal band called Injustice (could not bear the thought of being forced to play covers in Indiana to perform). Formed a band called Inner Sanctum with Greg Seymour and Bill Owen of Purgatory/Iced Earth, after our demo was recorded we had to change the name to The Sanctum and released our demo titled Hand Of Time.
After The Sanctum fell apart, Greg and I formed Incite with vocalist Jim Dorian and released a self titled demo.
Nothing ever really happened with that band so we went our seperate ways and I now write and record at home, though I really miss the performing. Married to my wife Carol and we have several cats and just adopted a dog a neighbor that moved abandoned. My hand and wrist don't give me too many problems (except the feeling never came back in the middle finger, but does not affect my playing) as long as I don't bend it the wrong way.
Nothing compared to the gentlemen that shred with one arm have gone through, truly inspiring.
